My
mixed media work is a combination of charcoal drawing and acrylic paint. I start
each work by masking areas of the paper with a low tack masking tape, to create
a subtle collage effect to the work. I draw with soft compressed charcoal first,
then paint with acrylic paint picking up some of the charcoal and blending it
into the paint. I have been working with this combination of materials since 1999.
I finish each work by matting with a neutral color matt board and framing with
a simple metal black frame and Plexiglas.
